If you have nothing good to say, say nothing.

For the most part, I have been having, what I would call, “good days”.

Today, I slept in.  When I looked at the clock, it read, 9:51.  I don’t remember the last time I slept that late.  Sadie is already out of the house.  It is prom day.  Hair and nails are this morning.  I’m excited for her.  Life is good.

I was at the store the other day and I saw someone I had not seen in a long time.  We chatted for a few moments.  She told me she had heard that my dad had passed.  Then she shook her head and said, “I would not trade lives with you for all the money in the world.”

Really?  That hurt.  That was not nice.

I love my life.  I am very blessed.  Although Joe is no longer on the planet, I was blessed to have been chosen to be his mom and raise him for 19 years, 5 months and 21 days.  I love my husband and like spending time with him more than anyone else.  That says a lot, after being together 25 years.  I have a daughter I love and I am very proud of her.  My mom, sister and brother are wonderful.  My dad was a great guy, he had a full life and enjoyed all 87 years.  I was blessed to have conversations with him until the hour he passed.  I have great friends and a beautiful home.  I am healthy and live a pain free life.

So, my life is worth more than all the money in the world.

Like my mom always said, “If you have nothing good to say, say nothing.   Think before you speak.”

My mother said the exact same thing to me, many times. Now, when my tongue is not so kind, I look to Heaven and say ‘sorry mom’.

You have a very rich and wonderful life. Your strength is amazing. And as I have told you before, your blog speaks to me in so many ways. Thank you.
