I woke at 2:22 this morning.  Sleep.  Ugh.  I am not getting enough of it.  I am not happy about that.  I don’t remember the last time I got a full eight hours of sleep.

After my hysterectomy in 1995, I was catapulted into menopause.  I don’t think I slept for a year.  At that time I had  one and four-year-old children fighting for my sleep deprived attention.

I don’t know what my problem is now.  I have not had caffeine or alcohol since New Year’s Eve.  Sometimes, that can be a reason for poor sleep.  Maybe it is because I am leaving town on Wednesday.  Flying alone. Fifteen days without John.  Heading back to Hutchinson Island.  Mom is down there now.  She is alone until I arrive Wednesday afternoon.  She has pneumonia.  Okay, so now that I am writing it down, I am understanding a few reasons for the lack of sleep.

I hope the fresh salt air acts as a natural Advil PM.  Today I will wrap up loose ends and pack my suitcase.

The weather is not good.  If you don’t have to drive this morning, don’t.
