Happy Easter.

Happy Easter! Easter means many things to people.  As a child, it was a day that we sold flowers at “Tischler Flower Market” located on the corner at my grandmother’s house in Mt. Oliver.  I found a hidden basket, got a new dress and hat and went to Mass. In later years, with my own [...]

The keys to your happiness.

I have been spending a lot of my days sitting on my kitchen floor with a paint brush in my hands.  Although I have been doing a little too much of it lately, I love to paint.  I love the quickness of it.  What I mean by that is that I love instant gratification.  Covering [...]

Good Friday.

Today is Good Friday.  It is a great day to sit quietly within yourself.  Pray.  Stop your mind chatter and leave the silence as a space to be filled with the greater good. It is a day of miracles.

Sadie’s in the haus!

Sadie came home last night for her Easter break.  We snuggled and chatted.  I just love having her back in the house.  Each time she leaves and returns I can see her growing into the woman she is going to be.  It is nice. Yes, it will be a short visit.  Back to school on [...]

I saw this yesterday and wanted to share it.  This video combines many of my favorite things.  There is singing, happiness, dancing and people from all over the world. I love it.  I hope you do too.  We make decisions every day.  Today, decide to be Happy.

The Moon.

I woke up in the middle of the night and came downstairs.  I remembered hearing about the eclipse and went to look out the windows.  Standing at the window, watching the moon, I realized how lucky I am. If you only say one prayer in your life, say thank you.

Like new!

Last fall I drove past a garage sale that had a dresser, with birds painted on it, in the driveway.  Being a sucker for a good garage sale, I swung the car around and went back.  I thought it would be nice to somehow paint the dresser, keeping some of the birds on it.  I gave [...]

Letting go.

I saw this quote last night.  It is fitting for me right now. “Letting go helps us to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance.  It allows others to be responsible for themselves and for us to take our hands off situations that do not belong to us.  This [...]

A must see.

A friend posted a video on Facebook yesterday.  It was of a priest singing Leonard Cohen’s song, Hallelujah.  That is one of my favorite songs.  Years ago, Joe and his friends, were playing it on the guitar and singing it in my basement.  A wonderful memory. This video made me cry.  I loved it.  I [...]

Restorative yoga.

Wednesday night, John and I took a restorative yoga class.  It was the first time that I was at the studio, Sterling Yoga in Dormont.  As we opened the door, I immediately felt comfortable and at home. Restorative yoga, if you are not familiar, is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental [...]
