A new day.

“Courage is sometimes just a quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try this again tomorrow.” I love that. Sometimes we get stuck in what is going on in our lives in the moment. We all make mistakes and need a “do over”. Fortunately, if we are lucky, we will wake [...]

Pray for Peace.

We are hearing of fighting and wars daily. While it seems large and abstract, the following video makes it seem close and personal. We all love the innocent children. It is sad and senseless. This isn’t about sides for me. It is about peace on all accounts. Pray for peace.

When we were in New York, Sadie and I went to a filming of the Katie Couric Show. The show was about the strength of the human spirit. We have all had to overcome obstacles in our lives. When we meet new people, even the person standing in front of us at the check out line, [...]

Welcome home.

John is returning home today. He has been out of town for a week. Sadie and I have gotten to spend a lot of time together. I spent time alone and I shared time with friends. It has been a nice week, but I am glad that it is over. I am looking forward to [...]

Parent’s Day.

Today is National Parent’s Day. It was created in 1994 when President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution into law for “recognizing, uplifting and supporting the role of parents in rearing of children.” I love that! Fortunately, I was blessed with two wonderful parents. I think it took me many years to not only realize [...]

Great company.

“One of the easiest and nicest gift you can give to yourself is to surround yourself with loving and kind people whenever possible.” Well, I just love that. I spent last night with a friend that I do not get to see often. We had a nice time catching up with each other’s lives, shared a [...]

Everything is okay.

It is a cloudless sunny day today. We haven’t seen that too often this summer. I will be in my bucket this afternoon. I am feeling anxious today. Doesn’t help that I did not sleep well last night. Sometimes that happens. Good days, bad days, that’s life. Fortunately, swimming in my pool helps with that. [...]

Daddy and Joe.

He asked me to get the shovel. As I walked into the garage, I noticed the faded pink paint that still covers the cinder block walls. I painted them one boring summer day during my high school years. The crucifix that now hangs in my dining room, is on the wall above the workbench. I [...]

Musical, magical birds.

I saw this yesterday. Combining two of my loves, music and birds, it was so moving to me. I had to share it with you. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Albert Einstein once said, “There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” I just love that quote and have it framed and sitting on my desk. As you walk through this day, think about how you move through your life. I’m certain [...]
