Hugs.

Yesterday was National Hug Day. I can’t believe I missed that. I am a bigger hugger. I have found that most people like being hugged. Did you know that hugging is good for you? Hugging and laughing (also a big favorite of mine) are extremely effective at healing sickness, disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety and stress.

Hugs can instantly boost oxytocin levels, which heals feelings of loneliness, isolation and anger. Hugging boosts self-esteem, so hug those kids of yours. Show them that they are loved and are special to you. Hugs are a lot like meditation and laughter in that they teach us to let go and be in the present moment.

Hugging encourages us to flow with the energy of life. The energy exchange between the people hugging helps to encourage empathy and understanding. I read that we need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance and we need twelve hugs a day for growth.
