An extra day.

Today is leap day. An extra day in 2016. What a blessing! Today, do something new. Shake up your life. Also, be kind today. Call your parents if you are lucky enough to still have them on the earth with you. Be patient with your children. Gather together around the dinner table tonight. Have everyone [...]

Joe and his car.

After waking up and remembering my wonderful dream about my dad, I just knew it was going to be a good day. While I was on my way to the swimming pool I was having a conversation with Joe. I was saying that if he, my dad and my mother are all in heaven together, [...]

A visit from my daddy.

Last night I had the most extraordinary dream about my dad. It has been a very long time since I have had a dream about him. I was in my childhood living room. My cell phone rang and it was my dad. “Hi Suz, go into your bedroom. I have a surprise for you there.” [...]

Prayers.

As I sit in my bed, not even 7:00 a.m., I receive a text message saying that the son, of the father and son team, who have been working on my house, has passed away this morning. My heart is broken for this father and his family. Please keep them in your prayers today. Life [...]

Being positive.

I received a message from an old friend yesterday. She asked me how it is that I am so positive every day. Here is the thing, it takes a lot more energy to be negative, if you ask me. Overall life is good. I have a Facebook friend who is battling an awful illness. All [...]

Last night I had a dream that I was sitting on a bench in a park. An older man with a mustache and an old-fashioned suit walked towards me. He smiled and asked me if anyone was sitting next to me. I said no and told him he was welcome to sit down. He and [...]

A new bench.

I got quite a few messages last night asking me if I found a bench to replace the old chair in my bedroom. Well, yes I did. I visited six different resale shops before I finally found myself in HomeGoods. This is the new bench. I don’t even need to paint it!

On the hunt.

John is working today so I am on my own. We have an old fabric chair that sits in the corner of the bedroom. I believe my parents bought it many years ago. When we bought this condo, nearly four years ago (wow, that time has flown by) my mama wanted it moved here. I’m [...]

Belief.

I think that the ability to believe in something bigger than ourselves is one of our greatest blessings. It is truly a magical and comforting way to live. To think bigger is a gift. There are many things in this life that we cannot see. We cannot see air, but we are not questioning it’s [...]

Joe in the dining room.

Yesterday, my sister and her granddaughter stopped at my house. My great niece is just so cute that I want to be a stereotypical old aunt and pinch and kiss her cheeks. Little Riley came in and sat on the floor. Kathi and I were talking when Riley pointed into the dining room and said, [...]
