Just a chapter.

I saw this quote today. “Breathe, darling. This is just a chapter. It is not your whole story.” I love that and definitely need it today. Sometimes when things get rough it is hard to stay in the thought that this too shall pass. I welcome that reminder today.

Memory lane.

On Saturday I attended a memorial service inside of my childhood grade school. So many memories of my time inside that building. That evening a childhood friend share this photo on her Facebook page. I love that photo so much. I have very few photos of myself, and none of my friends from that time [...]

The wedding.

I have spent the morning watching the royal wedding. I loved how in all of the pomp and circumstance, it was still very simple and sweet. I like Harry. I read an article a while back when Harry talked about how he is still very much grieving the loss of his mother. Talked about how [...]

For Good in the gym.

I had a dream last night that Joe was playing basketball in his grade school gym. He was laughing and having a great time. When I woke this morning, I was happy to have had that dream. I wouldn’t be surprised if he popped into that school from time to time. Joe very much enjoyed [...]

Good people.

I had lunch yesterday with a friend that I rarely see. It was very nice. She is the type of person who puts others needs in front of hers all of the time. Her work with the hungry and homeless in Pittsburgh is admirable. In a world where there is so much negativity and destruction, [...]

It is time for this again. Desiderata Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have [...]

A happy day.

So, for my birthday my friend took me to a new restaurant, Hello Bistro. I fell in love. It was a happy day. The idea is a create your own salad. You pick your type of lettuce and protein. You walk the line adding your other ingredients. They take it all and chop it into [...]

Mother’s day.

Today is Mother’s day. It is my third without my mama, and, this is hard to believe, the seventh without my son, Joe. If I chose to, I could find a lot of sadness in that. I don’t choose to do that. In this life, I have been very blessed. I do miss my mama [...]

My happy place.

And, just like that it is summer. John has taken the lid off the pool. Hopefully the weather will begin cooperating and I can spend some time in my bucket.I am so grateful that John spends a lot of his time making our yard and pool nice, so that I can float around and do [...]

Stepping forward.

I have learned something new about myself. I have been on a path of isolation. Pain did that to me. Made me not want to move. Not want to leave the house. Over the last year the slope has been gradual. So slight I didn’t really notice it. Until now. I am not a person [...]
