A sign from Joe.

This past weekend John, Sadie and I went to Houston Texas. Our niece, Courtney, got married. I super love when the Kimutis family has a wedding. It is a time when we can all get together. John has four siblings and we all live in different cities. Well, he even has a brother in another country, Kazakhstan. It was wonderful.

It is during these types of family gatherings and celebrations that I miss my son, Joe. As I sat in the pew there were a small group of people playing the violin and other string instruments that I can’t name. They played a few hymns but they also played Imagine by John Lennon. The Beatles remind me of Joe, but not nearly as much as the song “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon. When that song started immediately I had tears in my eyes. When we walked into the reception and looked for our table on the name cards, our table was 10. The number 10 was an important number since Joe was born 10/10/91. Just those two signs made me feel him in the room. I like that feeling.

Courtney was a beautiful bride.

It was a great weekend!
