This too shall pass.

Wow! Thank you all so much! I heard from so many people yesterday. Everyone is so kind. I didn’t post that so that all of you would reach out to me, but reach out to other people in your lives who are suffering and may need a kind word or support.

Today is beautiful fall day! As I type this the sun is shining through my kitchen windows. I love how the heat feels on my back. I love this time of year. With that said, I wasn’t thrilled to see the lid go on my pool. I love spending time in that bucket. Nothing hurts when I am in water. I feel closest to God when I am in water. I do my best praying when I am in water. But, no swimming for me until I go to Florida in November.

I love living in a city that has seasons. Soon the leaves will be falling and the air will crisp. It is almost time for John to start thinking about his Halloween candy purchases. That guy sure does love Halloween. My house is littered with pumpkins and fall decorations. Nothing says fall like a lazy Susan (I find that description of a spinning plate offensive) full of pumpkins.

Living with changing seasons is a sign of hope for all of us. Helps us to realize that nothing is permanent. Like my mama used to say, “This too shall pass.” That is comforting to those of us in situations that are difficult. It will pass. However, we must keep this in mind during good times as well. Cherish them. Appreciate when all is well. Don’t take it for granted. Be grateful. Life can change in a moment and it often does.

So, whether you are hoping for better times or content and happy with the status quo, be grateful. Life is short and ever changing. This too shall pass.
